Would any kind of throat cancer show up on an endoscopy/gastroscopy.

Friday, December 31st, 2010

Hi everyone,

My Mum had an endoscopy/gastroscopy today because she has been experiencing throat pain, hoarseness, difficulty speaking and fatigue. They suspected acid reflux.

They found her throat was inflamed and that she had a very short esophagus, but no tumor or anything. They are taking a biopsy of various parts of her throat too.

Is there any possibility that they might have missed seeing a tumor or some kind of throat cancer.

Thank you.

Nausea from healthier food.

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

I’m not sure if these things are connected, but two weeks ago I started eating 1500 calories per day and more recently I began exercising. Ever since I started I’ve been feeling nauseous and it peaked last night when I almost threw up at my boyfriends house.EW. Anyway, I’m fairly certain that I don’t have a fever or gastroenteritis so could anyone tell me if my body’s adjusting or if it’s something else.

Why wont my period stop and why am I in so much pain when I’m on birth control.

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

So, almost a year ago, I had periods that would last a month with a 5 day break then the period would start again for another month. This continued for 6-7 months before my doctor gave me birth control to regulate the periods. That worked fine and regulated me.

Now, like 5 months later after being off the birth control, it started happening again. This is extremely problematic because I am in the process of preparing for a gastric bypass surgery so I need this fixed otherwise I’m afraid they won’t do the surgery. So, my doctor again prescribed me birth control and told me to make a gyne appointment.

I’ve been on the pill almost 3 weeks now and the entire time I was on them for the first two weeks, I was moody, cramping, and miserable. Note that when I was actually bleeding and ON my period I never had ANY of these common period side effects except maybe headaches. But when my period stopped I would be in extreme lower stomach pain and I would snap at the simplest things. Third week into the pills, I still have the cramps in my stomach, but I’m not as moody because my period has actually started again.

Then, two nights ago, I woke up with a charlie horse [cramp in my calf]. I thought nothing of it because around winter time I get them sometimes but my normal 10 minute relief remedy of eating a banana didn’t work. So I had the pain all day. Then the next morning[yesterday, Christmas] I wake up with a cramp in my OTHER leg ontop of the pain in my first.

I’ve had leg cramps before, so I know these are both them but I’m just wondering if it’s possibly related to my weird and annoying as hell period issues. Also, what would cause me to bleed out and get the side effects of a period when I’m not even ON my period. This is really affecting my life horribly and I just want over with.

In allot of pain. Please help.

Hi guys,

So it started at 9pm, its now 3.52am.

The pain first off started around my tummy area, it was kind off all over. Some around my belly button, some above, some below. It was hard to tell, its extremely painful.
Its not a bug, as i feel totally fine other than the pain.

So now the pains back, its right under my ribs. And spreads up my back and sends shooting pain up my neck, the pain feels like a balloon us under my ribs, very achey. Constant. Ive tried drinking warm water, not working. As ive realised its not a Gastric pain, well i dont think it is anyway.

It hurts so much, i can sleep as its so bad. I have tried taking painkillers which havent worked.

I’m also very jittery. Would it be a good idea to do to the hospital or something. Help.

Thanks Lorna xx

I heard drinking too much coffee is bad for the stomach, because it makes you generate too much gastric acid.

But does taking a Pepcid negate this effect.

Because I’m a big coffee drinker, and if I were to have 3 cups of coffee a day, I would think that is bad for my stomach. But what if I drink 3 cups of coffee, and take 1 dose of Pepcid, will that negate the bad effect that drinking too much coffee has on my stomach.

Hey guys, well i need help finding help for my mom, shes a alcoholic and i don’t know who to turn to anymore.

Saturday, December 25th, 2010

well about 10 years back my mom had (if i’am correct) a gastro bypass which reduced the size of her stomach to the size of maybe a thumb or a bit bigger, not a 100% sure. Well she sneaks alcohol around when my step dads at work and i am the only here to watch her and make sure she doesn’t consume alcohol. I need some type of definite help that can take her addiction away. I am 18 and about to start college and i want her to be okay by that time so i know she wont drink when shes alone. She says she drinks so she can pass the time away and sleep during the day but I’ve tried recommending her to look for a hobby, a job, and etc. But i don’t know what to do or who to turn to anymore and i don’t want to abandon her. If anyone else has had this problem and was able to help please give me advice.

Do you get annoyed when fat people claim they can’t lose weight.

Friday, December 24th, 2010

.but they clearly can.

Also for a fat person to have a gastric band costs the government about £12,000 per person per year. Adding that to the excess surgery fat people have because of their weight costs society HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS per year.

All fat people do really is improve the finances of Sainsburys

Please share your thoughts, whatever they are.

Whats happening with me.

Hello am a 25 years old male with a long story, at July i started having this itchy redness on my chest I first ignored it for some time but it did not go away I went to the doc he gave me a cream and pills for the itching I finished my medications and still it was still there. later on at November something started I had a cold and was watching tv when suddenly i felt very sleepy and I could not walk in a straight line. later that night i started having numbness in my hands and legs & feeling my heart is skipping a beat. I went to the ER they said am having these symptoms becuz I use the computer a lot since am a graphic designer. Bullshit I know they had me do a diabetes test and it came back normal. my symptoms began to become worser every night I wake up 2 – 3 times with little finger and ring finger numb. (in both hands) and the rash turned into little bumps and 2 to 3 moles turned red I also had trouble walking and focusing I went to a neurologist who asked for MRI for the brain and for the cervical spine and they both came back normal so my neurologis gave me relaxing pills and said it was all stress. I went to an ENT doctor who said that I had infections both in my ears and nose gave antibiotics and spray I finished my medications and felt a little better i could walk again. the problem of course did not stop it went to my digestive system I had bad acid refluxes and stomach pain I went to the doctor who preformed a gastroenterology and found that I had an inflamed esophagus and infection in my stomach and tearing in my diaphragm plus urinary tract infection. I am on 4 medications for that now stomach pain is gone but I barely fart and have solid stools. I did a stool test which came back normal. Later on i started having pain in my left kidney I did two ultra sounds which revealed 7mm kidney stone and during the second ultra sound it showed that i had a fatty liver. i also had some pain in my middle rip cage bone when I inhale i did a chest xray which came back also normal. I went to two demonologists who also gave me creams and pills for my rash but i did not go away as well the first one told me that my moles were infected gave me antibiotics as well did not do anything to me ofcourse i went back for a check up and he said my rash is better when it was the same the second doctor told me i have nothing to be afraid of my moles are normal. I also had 4 cbc tests one showed my WBC was 5900 and then 10400 and then 11400 and then 8500 . everything else was normal. I also checked my b12 and Potassium and creatine also normal. I also had a thyroid gland test which also came back normal. I did 2 ECGs for my heart which came back also normal . am losing weight in a very weird way and I have no appetite to eat my rash is still there and has spread to my back and if touch my skin it turns to a big patch of redness and i can see little purple veins on my chest my fingers still get numb at night (sometimes my legs 2) plus muscle twitching all over one night i woke up with whole body numb and getting gos pumps all over. I have drumming sensations and ringing in my ears at night I have no fever at all. its very frustrating to the point that it made me cry. its effecting my whole life. I dont know what to do please help me with you suggestions. I am going to have my kidney stone removed tom. and am going to ignore what my demonologists said and have a skin biopsy of these moles.

Does this sound like serotonin syndrome.

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

I have fibromyalgia and started taking savella 12.5 mg yesterday. I also take 60 mg of Prozac. 0.5 mg of klonopin twice a day. 5 mg of abilify. 75 mg of seroquel. Seasonique. Along with many others for acid reflux, constipation, and delayed gastric emptying. About two weeks ago I had a fluttering heartbeat and pounding in my chest. I saw my doctor who at first thought it was a panic attack but then realized they don’t typically last two days straight. So he checked and I have postural orthostatic tachecardia syndrome. I already had it. It just got worse. My blood pressure was low around 102/70. My pulse was 60 something resting and 90 something standing. I was also very dizzy and lightheaded. I’m now on sodium chloride tablets three times a day to hopefully bring my blood pressure up. It was working well. Until today which is day two on savella. My heart is pounding and fluttering again. My chest hurts. I almost passed out a few times. Once it was really bad. My ears started ringing and my face turned red red red. I’ve been dizzy all day. I don’t know if my chest pain is my acid reflux or my heart. It’s right at my sternum. I was warned to watch out for serotonin syndrome because of all my medications. Does this sound like serotonin syndrome or my heart acting up again. It was skipping beats when the doctor checked it too but he said it wasn’t dangerous.
