orbera gastric balloon.

Hello, I was wanting to know if anybody out there has recently had the gastric balloon inserted (orally).and how they felt shortly afterwards ie first few days (feel like crap I’m told), and then how you feel once the balloon has settled. Can you feel it in your stomach, how much food can you eat, what are your energy levels like, basically any insights would be much appreciated. I am looking into this avenue myself as have tried repeatedly to lose weight over the last 4 years since the birth of my first child (prior to that no weight problems, I’m 37), and am sick of constantly trying something and always eventually failing. I’ve tried it all.excercise, smaller portions, ww, tf, atkins, diet pills, fasting.but after a month my resolve always fails. Anyways if anyone has any thoughts wuld love to hear from you.
Thanks 4 your reply.but that was not what I was asking about.

How much weight does one have to lose before loose skin becomes a problem.

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

I am currently dieting. I watched a special last night about a (formerly) morbidly obese gentleman who underwent the gastric bypass surgery and lost nearly 500lbs, but his loose skin still made him appear quite overweight. I’m planning on losing 100lbs over the next year (I really let myself go after I quit my first job awhile back). Will loose skin be a problem when I’m done. I’d almost rather be fat than look like a deflated balloon.

What the difference between a gastric band, gastric bypass and a gastric balloon.

What the difference between a gastric band, gastric bypass and a gastric balloon. I want to see if the NHS will pay for this, however I know that I may not qualify, I know its quite expensive to pay for one and if the NHS cant help would they part pay and I part pay or if not I am going to save up for one of the above but to do that I need to know more about them, Can anyone tell me the difference Xx

Gastric lap band question.

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I am seriously considering having a lap band put in. I have never been skinny, but 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Graves disease and they had to slow down my thyroid. After that, my weight ballooned up and I am now at 265lb. I was always healthy and since my weight gain, I am tired all the time, I have high bood pressure, my feet swell and ache, I snore like a buzz saw and I am depressed about the way I look. I am forced to wear ugly clothes because they do not make many nice things in plus sizes. I used to be a Saks and Neiman’s girl; now I shop at Marshall’s.

I would really like to hear from people who have had the surgery and am interested in your experiences. Also, I am terrified of having to have a body tuck to remove excess skin. I am 40 and I want to loose at least 120lbs. Do you think that all my skin will sag like an empty sack.

I have a very demanding job that requires almost 100% travel. How long will it take me to recover from surgery. How long before I can fly.

gastric band/balloon.

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

has anyone had this procedure. i am considering having this surgery as my BMI is 36 and find it hard to diet and loose weight. I don’t think i would be eligible to get this through the NHS so i am thinking of going private and paying on finance.

Has anyone paid for a gastric band on finance if so if you don’t mind me asking how much. and where you got the surgery. Any info would be great. Thanks

Has anyone heard of a pill that claims to be like a gastric balloon when taken with water.

I recently received something in the mail about this pill, but I must have replaced it. Does anyone know of this pill and the name of it. Thanks a bunch.

Hi,

I am considering getting a gastric balloon (BMI 37). Can any one give me a detailed account of their experience with gastric ballooning including weight lost, starting BMI etc.

Thx :-)
