How can I stop an acid and gastric reflux attack quickly and naturally.

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

I stupidly have run out of tablets and have to wait until Tuesday before I can gets some more, which means by 8pm this evening, I am going to be suffering. I have an hiatus hernia, so get dreadful acid problems, which is now effecting my gastric tube. I just would like to know if there is a natural way I can use to keep me going until Tuesday.

What could be the cause of my mother’s gastric pains.

Saturday, August 20th, 2011

My 70 year old mother has continuous pains in her belly, pretty much localized in the region just below her rib cage, just below lungs (upper intestinal area). The pains begin soon after she eats. There’s loud gurgling sounds coming from the area as well. This has been going on for 6+months. And during those months she’s seen several doctors, ran tests, ultrasounds, MRI, received a gastrointestinal endoscopy. Non of these turned up anything. No ulcers. Not acid reflux. She had her gal bladder removed, but this was not the cause. She gets diarrhea a lot, but it’s really the pain that is the major issue she has to deal with. She’s changed her diet, thinking it was maybe what she was eating caused the pain. No. Any ideas.

I have serious gastric problems since 15.need urgent help .I am Dipu. I am 35 years old.

Hi,

I am Dipu. I am from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am 35 years old. I married and have 2 children. My height is 5 feet 5 inches and weight 63 kg. I am doing job in a NGO. I have to eat and drink outside all the time because of my job. I take tea more then 2 cups a day (also green tea as well). My father died 2003. I am the elder son in my family. I have my mother, 2 brothers and 1 sister in my family.

I have gastric problems since 15 years. 1st few years I took antacid (a tablet combine of dried aluminum, hydroxide gel 250 mg, magnesium hydroxide 400mg) tablets frequently (3 or 5 times some times more then that every day that gave me temporally relieve). After taking long time antacid tablets (almost 10 years), my condition becomes critical.

Then I took advice a doctor he gave me some ranitidine, Esomeprazole group tablets. I took those couple of months (that time I did endoscopy nothing found serious). But then my condition becomes worst.

Recent for 5 or six months I feel long heartburn, severe chest and stomach pain which also reaches my back (pain doesn’t go away when I took medicine), extremely gas formation in stomach, malaise and flatulence, frequent release of bad smell gas (specially when my stomach is empty), suffering from Colic, indigestion and constipation (my stools very hard and have very bad smell), inflammation in chest, frequent cough, gastroesophageal reflux, keep losing weight. Some time when I drink water feeling sensation of wanting to vomit and desire to vomit a few minutes after eating.

Then I again went to doctor last month. I did ultra sonogram nothing found serious but a mild prostrate enlargement. For prostrate enlargement doctor sagest me to take tamsulosin tablets for 15 days and I did that. For gastric he gave me tetracycline for 7 days, rebipragol sodium INN 20mg and peppermint oil 250 mg daily 2 times for 2 months. I took those medicines for 1 month but not feeling good at all.
I am now feeling discomfort and severe pain in not only my stomach but also lower back and lower Abdomen every time especially at bed time. Usually, the pain is accompanied by frequent release of gas as well as some painful sensation in the chest area. According to my job nature I have to work in computer all day long, so after sitting long time I feel severe lower back pain and also lower abdomen pain, I thought It will be ok if I take exercise but that it not happen. I read lower back pain is also cause for prostate enlargement. Is it true. If so what should I do and what medicine should I take. I have this lower back pain for long time (almost 5 years). It is gradually increased and unbearable.

Now my condition getting more then worst. I have constipation also.

Now I am feeling extremely exhausted and weak all the time.
Please give me some advice and effective medicine for me.

Thanking you
Dipu

Can anyone give me advice on a hoarse voice problem please.

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

I am a male of 62 with reasonable overall health. Recently I have been treated for acid reflux and the meds and change of lifestyle have eased that considerably.

But for the past year I have suffered with a hoarse voice, at times almost impossible to have enough voice power to speak. People keep asking me if I have a sore throat and sometimes it feels like it. I have trouble projecting my voice and rarely am I comfortable in speaking. There is generally a lot of mucus in the throat and clearing this does help a tad . at times it is copious and tastes salty. The problem is so bad that I now try and miss meetings, even with friends. I have seen my GP a few times but he shows little interest, simply telling me to ’suck a lozenge’. I have tried every type of lozenge but it makes no difference. At times my voice can be squawky, like laryngitis. I also note that stress makes it worse and I wondered if stress could be the root cause, or the gastric reflux or something else. The problem is not going away. As I type this now, the throat seems sore. But this has bene going on for ages. Any suggestions please. Thanks all.

Do you think pantoloc is safe to take during pregnancy.

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

I am 27 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from very serious heartburn and gastric reflux. I threw up like 20 times the other night and ending up in the ER with an iv and some other meds they gave me for the excruciating pain. I read on a site that there had been no serious testing done on pregnant women so I am a little worried. However, 2 pharmacists, 2 doctors and a nurse all told me it was perfectly safe. What do you think.

Breastfeeding mommy needs helpful hints on pumping.

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

My daughter is almost 11 weeks old. I have breastfed her since she was born – everyday. The first couple of days she did have a couple of bottles cause I wasn’t producing enough for her. (she’s a chunky one) But within a couple of days we were straight breastfeeding. I have tried to pump and can only make 3 oz. We are on a feeding and sleeping schedule so it’s hard for me to pick the best time to pump. When she feeds its for about 30 – 45 mins. I know that’s more than 3 oz. After her morning feeding she usually goes back to sleep for 3 hours, I know that would be the best time to try, but I don’t want to pump and there not be much for when she wakes. I would really love to go out or have a date night for a few hours but can’t produce enough. Any ideas on pumping would be great. I have the cheapest manual pump that I purchased from Target. So it’s not a fancy one.
I also would like to know about working and breastfeeding. Anything on that would be very helpful.

I am refusing to go to formula. I had the worst of luck with breastfeeding with my first two. I know every child is different but I have this feeling she may get sick as soon as I stop breastfeeding her. Both my other girls did. Bronchitis, gastric reflux – it was miserable. Thank God they are healthy as can be today.
