Does gastro bypass make my aunts farts smell distinctively awful.

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

So seriously though my aunt had gastric bypass and every time she goes to the bathroom it smells distinctively awful. And it’s not a smell like any other smell. At best it’s smells like rot. At worst it’s indescribable. It started after her surgery and we can’t figure it out. And it’s every time she goes in there so it’s not just when she craps. Help.

Does Medicaid, in Florida, cover gastro intestinal bypass surgery.

If someone is severely morbid obese, would medicaid cover the cost for gastro surgery and/or lapband, in the state of Florida. I’m pretty sure other states are covered, like New York.

I’m looking for a diet or eating plan to gain a healthy lifestyle.

I’m 17, 114 lbs, 5′4”, female.

I’m not necessarily looking to lose weight (Though a pound or two off my tummy wouldn’t hurt ;) ) But I was inspired earlier this week by a teacher of mine. She lost a hundred pounds over the past year through surgery (gastro bypass I believe.) and she had to change her diet drastically. She says that she’s never felt better. She can see and think clearly, she’s happier, full of energy.
I was just wondering if there’s anything I can do on a much smaller scale to get to that level of healthiness.
I typically don’t eat a lot of junk because I’m hypoglycemic and can’t handle a lot of sugar. But I also eat at odd hours of the day and mostly eat carbs.

Any suggestions for diet and exercise to increase my energy and happiness.

Thanks guys :)

How can my friend have gastro-bypass surgery for weight loss when she has blood poisoning.

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

my friend is one that has to get attention any way she can get it.she is obese and has wanted to get lapband or gastro bypass surgery for a while now.her insurance company has refused to pay for it on the grounds she has done nothing to try and lose the weight any other way and continues to gain weight at a bout 10-15 pounds a month.i live in another town a few hours away, but we stay in contact with face book as we do with a lot of our mutual friends.back in october she put on face book that she was in the hospital due to blood poisoning (something to do with her diabetes).of course everyone on facebook would wish her well every day that she would post something about how terrible she was doing in the hospital.she ended up being in the hospital according to all of her posts for a month.2 weeks into her stay i was going to be headed back down to her area for business and i tried calling her cell phone and texting, but no reply.i sent her a facebook message telling her i would like to stop by the hospital to see her.she said that i couldn’t because she had caught the flu even though she was already being pumped full of antibiotics.ok, maybe next time i typed to her.she gets out of the hospital and a week and a half later she says in a facebook post that she is back in the hospital.i was a little worried, so i tried calling her parents after trying to call her and i just got their voice mail and no return call.i am not the only friend worried about what is going on.she was “in the hospital” for about a week and got out.now about a week later again she post on facebook that she will finaly be going into the hospital to get her by-pass surgery and she will be there through christmas.i am not trying to sound insensitive, but this is starting to sound like something is not right.could the insurance company decided all of a sudden to grant her this surgery.if she has had this much health issues the past month with blood poisoning from diabetes complications would doctors do a surgery that is not a life or death matter even though her blood is “poisened”.i hate to say this, but with her dodging her friends wishes to see her at the hospital i almost think she may be making her health issues up.am i wrong for thinking that.i just don’t see how she would get surgery like this if she is in such poor health.anyone else think something fishy is going on.

How fat do you have to be to get gastro-bypass surgery.

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I am 5′4 and I weigh 195 pounds. I also have high blood pressure. I do NOT have a thyroid problem, no diabetes, normal cholesterol. I have been a vegan for 6 months and I only loss 5 pounds. I guess I could exercise more but I’m concerned about my blood pressure and my looks. I have switched blood pressure medications several times in the pass two years. It is still high. It may be low in the morning but by evening it’s high again.

I would feel better if I could just get gastro-bypass surgery. I know the risks. I know that people can die and even gain the weight back. I just want the surgery because I don’t want to end up on dialysis. Am I fat enough for the surgery.

How do I find Insurance Agencies (or any other means of financing) that pay for Gastro-Bypass surgery.

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

My son has debilitating diseases, disorders, and other risk factors due to his morbid obesity. This includes extremely high-blood pressure that could give him a stroke and extremely high cholesterol. He needs to have Gastric-Bypass surgery. However, his insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) will not cover the surgery which I think is stupid because it would greatly reduce his health risks. Other insurance agencies I have checked with also will not cover the surgery. However, when I do research on Bariatric surgery, I always see a section that mentions Insurance Agencies that helped pay for it. He has tried to lose weight and to no avail. His life is in danger and heart attacks run on both sides of his family. How could he pay for this. Please help.
Listen, I really appreciate everyone’s “knowledge” but I could really use an actual answer to my question. The family has already decided to proceed with the surgery as soon as we figure out the cost and how to pay for it. Please do not give me any other information besides “how to pay for” the surgery or how most people USUALLY pay for the surgery. If all you have is red tape, keep your response to yourself. What we need is HELP. Perhaps a company that gives loans for surgery. Perhaps some type of payment plan. You know, help.

With all the obesity problems today.

would it be acceptable to perform gastro bypass surgery on infants while we circumcise them. Since we are already doing that, why not fix 2 issues at once right.
the surgery would be to prevent FUTURE obesity. of course infants aren’t fat
