I am 19days out and have lost 22lbs. I too started to worry about the foods I can eat. seems like I am doing "TOO GOOD" I do find it hard to eat certain things at times, but for the most part I can eat anything....just alot smaller than b4 surgery:) I too know when to stop I think that is the biggest key. I walk everyday and today I even started my wieght training again. I am not doing too much but enough to make me feel like I am:) I havent dropped any lbs in 5days....that seems to bug me but hey I know that I am on the right track. Last night I got in to a pair of jeans I have NOT been able to wear in over 5 years...I just wannted to see how much more I had b4 they fit and they went right up with NO problem...I must say I was looking good in them:) I try to stay away from sugary foods, but I have been able to suck on a small pc of candybar with no problem. I hope it continues to be a good journey for you and others:) as well as myself....GOOD LUCK all and life can be good on the loser's bench!!!!

I used to work in this office. I can concur that this is a horribly managed facility. And finding and mixing up patient's medical records there is common. They are a sloppy outfit. Also, it should be noted that they OFFSHORE TO INDIA all of their medical records/medical transcription, in addition to their radiology readings. Horrible! Not only for privacy sakebut for medical record accuracy sake. They also have NO RNs in the clinics but rather "medical assistants". A medical assistant is trained to take blood pressure and that's about it. They are SOOO uneducated and clueless, yet they are entering medications and prescriptions on patients, etc. VERY scary. Yeah, I would NEVER allow a family member to be seen at The Oregon Clinic.

I am dealing with the same thing right now, and I have found that I can move past my liquid diet if I puree or mash foods up very well, blended with broth or gravy. Also, carnation instant breakfast is a little better tasting than ensure in my opinion, but that usually stays well in the morning. Reglan is a good medication to empty the stomach and prevents nausea and vomiting, my doctor has me on it 30 minutes before meals and right before bed time. Sherbert, yogurt, puddings (thinner consistency) have worked on me so far. Good luck, and God bless.

Doesn’t sound like they are actually doing a gastric bypass, but decreasing the size of your stomach, if it is distended, to make it a more normal size (from what you say here). If you are constantly eating, you can maintain your weight, just have to be sure to stick with high calorie foods. Sounds like you really could use some time with a dietitian (someone medically trained) who might be able to help with the issues you are having. My mother, who lived to be 91 years old, had part of her stomach removed many years ago, when that was the treatment for ulcers. She was able to eat well and maintain her weight, and she was never a big person.
